New book from search Gurus

My friend and colleague Martin White, managing director of Intranet Focus Ltd in the U.K. and his partner on the venture, Stephen Arnold of ArnoldIT have published their new tome; Successful Enterprise Search Management.

I know its good, I was one of the proof readers ! So you can click here to go to the publishers site and get a copy.

There is a some information on Martin's site here: http://www.intranetfocus.com/technology/successfulsearch.php

There is also an interview with Martin as part of the 'Search Wizards Speak' series on Stephens site here: http://www.arnoldit.com/search-wizards-speak/martin-white.html

By the way, if you want to subscribe to a good blog on search related subject matter, Stephen is a prodigous blogger, check out 'Beyond Search'

By the way, to return to the title of the book, notice its got the 'M' word in it. Search, like any seemingly technology driven activity, is in the end about people. People manage systems, and I agree with Martin's approach to managing search, as I have experienced the improvements that can be made in enterprise search, not by buying a new product, but by setting up a multi-disciplinary team to manage the delivery of a search facility on an intranet. So, I know from first had experience that the approach recommended in the book works, and I can't think of a better recommendation than that !

Prescient Digital Media focus on the strategy, planning and management of web sites and intranets and our methodology applies equally to enterprise search.
